Freedom Days Parade -
Oceanside
July 2, 2011 10:00 am - 12:30 noon
The Annual Freedom Days Parade features floats, bands, walking groups, cool cars
and much more. The parade starts in front of the 101 Cafe (Coast Highway at Wisconsin
Avenue) at 10:00 a.m. and works its way north with the first unit of the parade reaching
City Hall (Civic Center Drive) around 10:45 am. Running time from beginning to end is
about two hours. Viewing of the parade is available from the sidewalks along the entire
route. Spectators are encouraged to bring folding chairs.

Annual Big Bay Boom Fireworks Show
July 4, 2011 Fireworks:

Now called the Big Bay Boom, a display of some of the most technically advanced
pyrotechnics will be fired from four barges floating in the bay off Shelter Island, Harbor
Island, the Embarcadero area and Seaport Village, and will last more than 17 minutes.
Fireworks will also be discharged at the Imperial Beach Pier. Good Viewing Areas:
Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Spanish Landing, Seaport Village, Embarcadero Marina Park

that we have gotten the go-ahead to have fireworks this year, we are short funds to put on
the Lake Murray Music Fest. The committee could not let this 4th of July be dark over Lake
Murray, however, so we will be moving forward with a larger fireworks show than last year.
This will not happen without your help, by donating at this late date."
