Race Across the West & Race Across America
2009
June 17 thru 20 See "Details" link
for start times
Race Across America is now the longest running
bicycle endurance competition in the world. It is an event so staggering that merely to
finish is, for most, the accomplishment of a lifetime. Two sets of races occur
simultaneously, a solo and team competition. For the first time in 2009, the Race
Across the West will be held in conjunction with the Solo Race Across America. The
start line for both is in Oceanside, CA, and follow the same course.
Race Across the West: Oceanside, CA to Taos, New Mexico, ending June 20 = 1,000
miles.
Race Across America: Oceanside, CA continues on to Annapolis, MD, ending June 29 =
3,000 miles
Race Across America is not a stage race like the Tour de France, where each day a set
distance is covered. In both races, the first racer there wins!
