The San Diego County Credit Union MS Walk is a great chance for teams and communities to come together for a fun-filled event while making a difference in the lives of those with multiple sclerosis. There are more than a third of a million Americans living with MS. Joining the MS Walk is a fun way to raise crucial funds to help end the devastating effects of MS. Make a difference in the lives of hungry people--participate in this walking event. A group of interdenominational churches have come together to organize a sponsorship walk to raise funds that will be used to feed underprivileged persons. Admission: Suggested participant pledge/donation.

The Rodeo features seven major events: Bareback Bronc, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, and Team Roping.

The Boy Scouts of America is hosting a triathlon for older scouts, girls, and advisors, age 13 to adult. Participants will swim across Enchanted Cove, bicycle around a large loop, and run around a short loop.

Youths age 8 to17 will assist with the creation of soap box derby cars and race them down a 500-foot hill. The event teaches basic skills of workmanship, competition, and perseverance. Approximately 100 derby cars will compete and cars will be transported to the top of the hill every few minutes. Admission: $25.00 (entry fee for non-city resident).

A round robin tournament with Long Polynesian wooden canoes racing in the bay. Watch teams work the paddles in synchronized motion. Meanwhile, on shore, Polynesian dancers in grass skirts will be swaying to music at the luau that accompanies this event. Free admission.

Music presented will be top classical favorites such as "Prelude to Act Three of Lowhengrin" by Richard Wagner and "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by Strauss. Magnificent organ music will also be offered. The La Jolla Half Marathon is one of America's most picturesque and challenging runs. Starting adjacent to the Del Mar Fairgrounds main entrance, (fairgrounds parking lot) the course follows a scenic route along the coast before reaching the challenging climb to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park. After leaving the park, the course continues the beautiful residential district of La Jolla Shores, and finishes on the grass in the park at La Jolla Cove.
