Part of Leucadia State Beach, this is a narrow cobblestone and sand beach, not the absolute best for sunbathing, but the view is spectacular and it's a secluded, quiet beach. Not a great beach for kids, either, but the surf fishing is good, and so are the swimming conditions. Low tide reveals some nice tidal pools for exploring. Best of all is the surfing, perfect for beginners with somewhat soft-breaking waves. Longboarders go for the area off south-reef, but for high-performance waves, there are better beaches in the area.

Swami's Beach

General:
Swami's Beach, officially named Sea Cliff County Park, is a world-class surf location. Located below Seacliff Roadside Park this is a narrow cobblestone and sand beach bordered by a steep 80-foot bluff. At high tide, the beach goes missing. Swami's is one of THE premier surfing spots in Southern California, no matter what season. Definitely the best in San Diego for the experienced, not for beginners. Forget swimming and sunbathing at this beach, but if you're into snorkeling and scuba diving, dis is da place. There is a near-shore underwater preserve that's wonderful for for snorkeling and scuba diving. The diving is in shallow water, around rocks that form nice ledges and little tunnels in some areas that you can dive through. Around the big rocks there is an abundance of sea creatures you can spy on.

Sea Cliff Park aka Swami's Park:
On the south side of theSelf-Realization Fellowship Hermitage, atop the bluffs and above the beach, is Sea Cliff Park (aka Swami’s Park). This small park has a grassy picnic area, trees, picnic tables, barbecues, and a restroom. A stairwell from the park leads down to the beach.
